I grew up in England during the baby boom years after WWII, and was shipped off to an all-boys boarding school from ages of 8 to 18. My mother shed many tears to keep me at home, but my father wanted to “make a man” out of me so I entered the loneliest time of my life. Fortunately , I discovered an artistic ability at school, so my escape was spent in the English countryside, sketching and painting.
In search of adventure and escape from my father, I moved to San Francisco in the late 1960s and emigrated to Southern California soon thereafter.
I spent the best part of my business life passionately growing small companies from creative ideas and seeing them flourish. After selling the company I had built over 20 years to my key employees, I retired from business life to pursue new creative ventures.
I now find inspiration through photography and spend time in far off places with people from other cultures. When at home, I am most at peace while sailing or tending to my koi pond.
